Rebuild the Ecotone

This studio began with analysis and mapping of a neighborhood of Providence, RI. Exploring the biological and physical conditions of the Woonasquatucket River Corridor along with urban issues extending from Olneyville Square.  Zooming in and out to focus on the design of public space with a small-scale architectural intervention that uses ecosystem services to create urban space. it developed a comprehensive mixed-use project that includes housing, public programs, and ecological infrastructure to rebuild the ecotone and bring nature back to the neighborhood.
